Recycling wooden pallets creates jobs

For every 10,000 tonnes of waste recycled, there are 9.2 jobs created as opposed to 2.8 jobs for the same amount of material sent to landfill.   

This statistic holds true (approximately) for Waste Converters Recycling. They currently recycle 50,000 tonnes of material per annum and employ 45 staff.

Most wood pallets can be reused and repaired multiple times, aside from a small proportion designed for single use. Reusing the pallets saves trees, energy and diverts useable materials from landfill. Pallets that can't be reused can be recycled into a range of wood-based products.
